Hi I’m Leon Beu, visual & communication designer at urbanes.land.
I live and work in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
B.A. Communication Design
Leon is a freelance visual designer and photographer. After studying media technology at the TH Deggendorf and communication design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd, he works with and for culture and research.
The topic of structural vacancy in Central Europe runs through his work. On various photo-journalistic journeys, he focused, among other things, on the death of farms in Bavaria, the decline of spa tourism and the vacancy of dance halls in East Germany. His interest and commitment to brutalist architecture also arose on these trips.
Together with two friends, he has been working since 2020 on a reappraisal of the „Planning New Gastein“ project, in which architecture, graphics and design came together in a rarely seen symbiosis in 1972.
Leon tells stories, often in words, more often in pictures, graphics, humour, videos and audios.
