Christoph Hupfer is a civil engineer and mobility expert. Besides being Professor for Mobility Planning at the Institute for Traffic and Infrastructure and Dean of the Faculty of Information Management and Media at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, he is head of Hupfer Ingenieure, consulting policy makers on all tiers. Christoph has conceived and shaped the interdisciplinary approach of his faculty combining know-how on transportation systems with high-end information management expertise.

An integrated understanding of and interdisciplinary approach to mobility issues are at the core of Christoph’s research and educational practice. Mobility management for him requires cultural competence and social norms to the same degree as technological knowledge. Christoph has established Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences as an important centre in the academic network on mobility management. He advocates for early sensitizing of students and young researchers to the topic of sustainable mobility and sees the exchange of international experience, positions and practice as an important tool.

He will be part of the panel CONNECTED + BALANCED at the Urban Land Conference.
